JWB Insurance Group Celebrates its 14th Anniversary

 JWB Insurance Group of Wilmington, Cary and now Fayetteville, North Carolina is proud to celebrate three anniversaries this month: its 14th year in business, its 4th consecutive year as Wilmington’s premiere (and recently exclusive) United Healthcare platinum agency, and its 3rd year since adding a property and casualty division.


 “Becoming a Platinum agency for United has really set our agency apart, and in such a competitive market, it lets people know that we are at the top and gives us very distinct advantages in servicing our clients,” explains Larry Wolfe, co-founder and President of JWB Insurance Group.  Platinum status is a distinction awarded to independent agencies that meet high standards in attracting and retaining UHC customers and is awarded to only the top 1% of all agencies nationwide.


 In the process of evolving from a two partner firm to one with over 30 employees, JWB Insurance Group has tried to remain innovative.


  “Over the past several years we’ve added VOIP telephones, remote servers, an electronic document management system, a client focused web portal and more recently, a ‘4-10’ work-week for some of our employees” says Wolfe.


 “It’s tough to tell which innovation our employees like best, but if I had to guess, it would be the ‘4-10’ work week,” adds co-founder and Vice-president Jim Warren, “it really seems to keep our employees fresh and helps save a little on gas.” 


 While JWB is open Monday-Friday from 9-5, with a number of employees working four, ten-hour days, forgoing the traditional eight hour, five day a week schedule.  They came up with the idea after seeing specials about ‘flex scheduling’ on Good Morning America, and in the Star News.


 Over the past 14 years the company has not only committed to being innovative but has really dedicated itself to being customer focused. Corey Hill, Director of Marketing believes, “Larry and Jim seem to have realized early on that focusing on satisfying customer needs and showing a rare compassion for the client was important to them”.   Half of the agency’s staff is dedicated solely to customer support.


 Wolfe and Warren agree that “Traditional selling has shifted to a more consultative approach, focused more on finding a customized solution than providing the same standard options for everyone.”
